National Naval Aviation Museum to Host ‘Visitor Appreciation Day: Kid’s Day”
July 15
Pensacola, Fla. – (July 10, 2023) – The National Naval Aviation Museum (NNAM) is excited to host another Visitor Appreciation Day: Kids’ Day on Saturday, July 15 as a way to recognize the Pensacola community for their loyal support.
Starting at 9 a.m., Kids’ Day will focus on fun-for-the-whole-family flight activities and entertainment geared toward kids. The day includes:
- Free kid’s admission (up to age 18) to any Giant-Screen movie or simulator ride with the purchase of an adult ticket. One child admitted free per paid adult ticket.
- Blue Anchor Belles – a patriotic 40s and 50s-inspired singing group, will perform “Boogie Woogie” era songs at noon in the atrium.
- Paper airplanes presentation – learn how to make paper planes with members of the Blue Angels. Starting at 1 p.m. in the atrium, kids and adults alike can learn the basic concepts of flight and aerodynamics by timing just how long their paper planes stay aloft. Expect to see dozens of paper airplanes flying amidst dozens of historic military aircraft shortly after.
- Storytime reading at 2 p.m. – Blue Angels members will read aloud the children’s book, “Flight of Dreams,” by author Tanya Theriault in the atrium.
“We invite families and friends, young and old, to come out and enjoy themselves and experience the magic of naval aviation,” said Rear Adm. Kyle Cozad, president and CEO of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation.
The National Naval Aviation Museum is open Monday-Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
