Safety Is Key at Bands on the Beach
Hands. Face. Space. Do Your Part!

Pensacola Beach, Fla. – (March 25, 2020) – Pensacola Beach’s popular outdoor summer concert series, Bands on the Beach, begins next month, so the Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) wants to remind the public that COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place this season.
The SRIA is encouraging all attendees to take appropriate COVID-19 preventative measures by masking up, socially distancing themselves from others, and following the guidelines of local health authorities.

“We are looking forward to hosting Bands on the Beach, once again, from the beautiful white sands of Pensacola Beach,” said Paolo Ghio, executive director of the SRIA. “In order to have this event in as safe a manner as possible, we need your help. We need the public to do its part by continuing to follow the CDC guidelines.  There is plenty of beach and paved area to social distance.”

All SRIA staff will remain masked during each event and hand sanitizer will be provided at the SRIA tent.
Regarding apparel sales, attendees will not be allowed to handle any merchandise prior to purchase in an effort to prevent contamination. In addition, the SRIA requests the public use exact change for all sales, if possible.

Please note: Pets and glass are still prohibited.

The free concert series features performers for every musical taste and is held each Tuesday night, from 7-9 p.m., beginning April 6 and running through October 26.

Pensacola Beach is owned by Escambia County, Fla., and is under the direction of the Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA). The SRIA was created by the Florida legislature in 1947 under Chapter 24500. The SRIA does not receive tax support from the taxpayers of the county. It is fully funded from lease fees collected from business and residences on the beach. The SRIA board is made up of six members; five are named by members of the Escambia County Board of Commissioners whose term is the same as the commissioner who appointed them. Registered voters on Pensacola Beach elect the sixth member. The elected member’s term is two years.
