06 Nov Goals Galore: A Huge 2023 SEC Soccer Championship in Pensacola

PENSACOLA, FLA. (November 14, 2023) –We’re celebrating the second year of an incredibly successful SEC Soccer Championship Tournament here in Pensacola!

Thanks to the efforts of Pensacola Sports, soccer fans were able to take in nine action-packed games of elite NCAA soccer, as the top 10 SEC women’s teams vied for the championship at Ashton Brosnaham Park from October 29th – November 5th.  This year’s tournament marks the sophomore year of Pensacola Sports’ multi-year agreement with the SEC to host the SEC Soccer Championship Tournament from 2022 – 2024, with an option to extend through 2026.

More than 6,400 fans filled the stands this year. Beyond the excitement of watching SEC Championship soccer, attendees also enjoyed the free FAN FEST during the tournament, featuring music, food trucks, and interactive activities for all ages to enjoy.

EW Bullock’s role as part of the Showcase Pensacola team was to create an integrated marketing and promotion plan for the event. The plan included tactics designed to attract out-of-town visitors as well as initiatives to generate excitement and interest from the local market.

As soon as the 2023 tournament dates were determined, the teams from EW Bullock, Pensacola Sports, and The SEC collaborated to build out this year’s marketing plan, develop the creative strategy, and implement the campaign. Ads promoting the tournament began running in mid-September, aligning with the launch of ticket sales. The EW Bullock team leveraged excitement for the tournament and was successful in setting up a number of pre-event press interviews as part of our public relations strategy. These interviews helped create more awareness and interest in the upcoming event.

Campaign elements include:

• Public relations tactics
• Digital and social advertising
• TV, radio, print, and outdoor advertising
• Environmental marketing – street pole banners, sidewalk stickers, event banners
• Email marketing
• Engaging with local youth soccer teams
