Discover the Stories Behind the Songs at the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival

October 1-6

Pensacola Beach, FL (September 6, 2024) –Music lovers, mark your calendars for October 1-6 as the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival returns for another year of unforgettable performances of Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum selling songwriters and artists, hit songwriters, and burgeoning up-and-comers. Experience the authentic sounds of original music, brought to life by the songwriters themselves, against the stunning backdrop of Pensacola Beach, as well as venues in downtown Pensacola.

This year’s festival will feature 127 talented songwriters from across the country and beyond, performing at 21 stunning beachside venues in and around Pensacola and Pensacola Beach.

With over a decade of history, the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival has become a beloved annual tradition, growing in size and prestige each year. For six days, fans will have the opportunity to connect with the creators, hear the stories behind their songs, and enjoy the pristine beaches and perfect weather of Pensacola Beach.

“The Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival is more than just a music event—it’s a celebration of creativity and the art of storytelling,” said Reneda Cross, festival director. “We’re especially excited this year to showcase not only nationally renowned talent but also our incredible local singer-songwriters who are the heartbeat of this community.”

 

Special Events

This year’s events include: Blues & Bluegrass Beach Bash, Hilton Garden Party, Oyster Bay Courtyard Concert Series, Native Cafe Listening Room, Mermaids & Music, WSRE Studio Amped, Moonlight & Music, Country Strong, From The Ground Community Garden, The District Seville, and many more, including two special Veterans events in Pensacola and Pensacola Beach featuring songs written with some of our local veterans.

There are also two special Sunday morning events, Ministry of Music and Service of Music. On Sunday afternoon, a big finale at Bamboo Willies closes out the festival with one big show.

Some special events are ticketed and sales will go quickly.

 

Featured Headliners

This year’s lineup of headliners includes:

  • Earl Bud Lee: Iconic songwriter behind “Friends in Low Places,” with credits for songs performed by Garth Brooks, George Strait, Blake Shelton, and more.
  • Keith Burns: Founding member of the Grammy-nominated group Trick Pony, with Top 10 hits and songwriting credits for major artists like Joe Diffie and Hootie & The Blowfish.
  • Thompson Square: Grammy-nominated husband-and-wife duo known for their smash hit “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not,” with multiple awards and appearances on national TV.
  • Jamie O’Neal: Platinum-selling singer and songwriter, known for her #1 hits “There Is No Arizona” and “When I Think About Angels.”
  • Andy Griggs: Country music artist with two #1 hits, five Top 5’s, and the unforgettable single “You Won’t Ever Be Lonely.”

 

National Songwriting Competition

The 2024 Pensacola Beach Songwriting Festival National Songwriting Competition Grand Prize Winner is Jessey Adams, a talented singer/songwriter known for her blend of outlaw and traditional country music. Her winning song, “When the Drinker Plays,” stood out among hundreds of entries. She will perform along with all category winners during the PBSF Awards 2024 on Saturday, Oct. 5.
