FDOT to Perform Routine Bridge Inspections of Mid-Bay Bridge
January 23
Niceville, Fla. (January 9, 2020) – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be performing routine inspections on the Mid-Bay Bridge over Choctawhatchee Bay on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. Intermittent lane restrictions are to be expected.
The FDOT will begin inspections in the southbound lane at 9 a.m. and move northward. Inspections are expected to complete by 3 p.m.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling in work zones and to expect traffic build up.
About the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority
The Mid-Bay Bridge Authority is a dependent special District of the State located in Okaloosa County, created in 1986 by the Florida Legislature to finance, build, and oversee a bridge across Choctawhatchee Bay along with roads connecting to it. The Authority has five voting members, appointed by the Governor and the District Three Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation, or his/her designee, who serves as a non-voting member. An Executive Director and staff manage day-to-day administration of the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority.
